The Harvard Executive Session on Policing and Public Safety has just publised an important report on Police Discipline: A Case for Change, by Darrel W. Stephens. Stephens is the retired police chief of the Charlotte Mecklenberg Police Department in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he established a national reputation regarding problem-oriented policing. The Police Discipline covers the important issues related to police disciplinary procedures and imporant innovations in disicpline, including the Discipline Matrix, Education-Based Discipline, Mediation, Early Intervention, and others.
